Fairness is vital for happy, motivated and successful sales teams. Round robin remains the simplest and most effective way to achieve this. Like a card dealer, round robin just keeps handing out leads in a circle.. “one for you, one for you”. Everyone knows their turn will come and there are no arguments or conspiracy theories about lead allocation.
Round robin distribution is easy in Distribution Engine. Simply create a team (your reps), add a round robin “distributor” and tell it where to look for the leads to assign.
For more advanced teams you can create multiple round robins to ensure not just overall fairness but something more specific e.g. create a round robin just for hot leads or just for leads from a certain source.
Distributors have a whole raft of options including ordering, capping, weighting, filtering. They can be plain round robin or they can use Sticky assignment, which means duplicate leads get “stuck” to the same rep. They respect the availability of the team so you can prevent leads getting assigned to reps who are out of the office. You can also control who gets certain lead types by creating team member filters, for example maybe your hot leads only go to selected senior reps or large enterprise deals go to specific AEs.
